The average price of a Shih Tzu is depending on its breeding. A carefully bred Shih Tzu with no medical issues will cost $700 to $1500. Some Shih Tzu puppies will cost as much as $2000 depending on the area where it is bred. Also, a breeder with quality show puppies would ask more.

You need to be careful in buying your first Shih Tzu puppy; some puppies are priced high even though they are not of quality bred.
